Delete your account and data
You can delete your CampUnited account yourself at any time, free of charge. Deletion is immediate and permanent; it cannot be undone.
Option 1: Directly in the app (recommended)
- Open CampUnited and sign in with your email address and the code we send you.
- Tap your profile picture in the top right and choose Einstellungen (Settings).
- At the bottom, in the “Konto” (Account) section, tap Konto löschen (Delete account) and confirm.
The button takes you to sign-in and then straight to the “Konto” (Account) section in the settings.
Option 2: By email, if you can no longer sign in
Write to us from the email address you used to sign in to CampUnited, at support@camp-united.app, with the subject “Delete account”. To prevent misuse, we only delete accounts when the request comes from the registered address; if in doubt, we will ask you for a short confirmation. We usually process your request within a few days, at the latest within one month.
What is deleted
When you delete your account, we immediately and permanently remove:
- your login including your email address,
- your profile with nickname, real name (if provided) and profile picture,
- your campsite assignment and pitch number,
- all your listings including photos,
- your chats and messages,
- your notification settings and devices saved for push notifications,
- your blocks.
What is kept for a short time
- Reports by other users about content you wrote, and reports you submitted yourself, are stored for up to 12 months so we can trace misuse. After deletion they are no longer linked to your account.
- Backups at our database provider (Supabase) still contain deleted data for a short time and are then overwritten automatically.
Only some of your data?
If you want to keep your account but remove individual data, you can change your profile picture and real name in the app under “Profil bearbeiten” (Edit profile), delete listings and remove chats. You can get a copy of all your data in the settings under “Meine Daten herunterladen” (Download my data).
